How the Library's Renewal Started

Reuse is a trademark of libraries as we make quality materials in various formats available and accessible to all. But we don't want to stop there.

As former American Library Association (ALA) President Loida Garcia-Febo stated, “This is a pivotal time for libraries. [We] are helping to better the education and the lifelong learning of the communities [we] serve. By adding sustainability to its core values, ALA recognizes that libraries of all types can act as catalysts and inspire future generations to reach solutions that are sensible and essential to sustaining life on this planet.”

Going Solar

Going Solar

The sixty solar panels being installed on our south-facing roof will help the library enormously as we work to reduce our carbon footprint.

Sustainable Trempealeau

In 2017, the Village Board of Trempealeau passed Resolution# 8-2017 to declare itself a Sustainable Community and "endorses the values, principles, and practices described herein and agree to seek opportunities for collaboration, communication, and partnership with other municipal and organization entities in the common pursuit of sustainable community development.
