Foraging in the Fall..and throughout the year
Join local herbalists, foragers and gardeners Laurie and Raymond to learn about what the plants offer us at this time of year. We will have many examples, recipes, and demonstrations of ways to preserve and use your harvests, whether for kitchen, household health, or crafting. Laurie is a nurse practitioner, medical herbalist, and crafter, and Raymond is an accomplished mushroom hunter and gardener.
After the presentation and playing with plants at the library, those interested can go on a plant walk with us. Bring collecting bags; maybe we will find some mushrooms! We will talk about foraging to preserve plant environments and even plan for the next year to help our valuable plant communities thrive.
Some of their plant publications and products will be for sale, including Laurie's booklet of original botanical drawings and information, "Ten Herbs to Know and Grow"
